Session 10: Faithful Stewardship - Finding Rest and Managing Time in God's Presence
This session challenges us to reconsider rest not as something we earn after hard work, but as a divine command established at creation itself. From Genesis 2, we see God modeling a rhythm of rest on the seventh day—not because He was tired, but to establish a holy pattern for His people. The session confronts our modern addiction to busyness and our haunting feeling that there's always something more we should be doing. Drawing from Matthew 11:28-30, we're reminded that true rest comes only through coming to Christ, who invites all who are weary and burdened to find refuge in Him. The session beautifully distinguishes between worldly rest (napping, sitting idle) and biblical rest (being still in God's presence, hearing from Him, being refueled by Him). We learn that rest isn't about an empty calendar but about intentionally lifting our eyes to God amid our circumstances. The enemy seeks to rob us of rest by keeping us distracted and task-focused, preventing us from enjoying what God has given us in our homes and families. Perhaps most convicting is the reminder that Jesus Himself was interruptible—pausing His plans to heal the bleeding woman and Lazarus—showing us that our interruptions might be divine appointments rather than frustrations. This session calls us to create margin, to be still, and to remember that in our busyness, we're not just missing rest—we're missing God Himself.
