Session 7: Boaz

The book of Ruth offers us one of the most relatable stories in Scripture, not because of dramatic miracles or earth-shaking events, but because it reveals the beauty of everyday courageous faith. Set during the time of the Judges when everyone did what was right in their own eyes, Ruth and Boaz stood out by choosing righteousness when the culture around them would not have judged them for doing wrong. This is the exact position we find ourselves in today—living in a world where godly living makes us stand out, where obedience to God's standards isn't the norm. The story challenges us to examine who is in our 'field'—who has God placed in our lives to provide for and protect? We all have boundaries and limits, but within those boundaries, there are people God has specifically called us to serve, love, and care for. The courage to help others, to step into risky situations when God calls, to live righteously even when no one would blame us for compromising, and to wait patiently on God's timing—these are the daily acts of faith that may seem simple but are profoundly significant in God's kingdom. Ruth and Boaz weren't famous by birth or title, yet their faithful obedience placed them in the lineage of Jesus Christ himself, reminding us that God uses ordinary faithfulness to accomplish extraordinary purposes.
