Session 7: Intentional Relationships - Building Strong Foundations in Our Homes

In this session on intentional relationships, we are challenged to examine every connection in our lives through a biblical lens, starting with the most fundamental truth: we cannot give what we do not have. The foundation begins with our relationship with God, reminding us that according to 1 John 4:19, we love because He first loved us. From this wellspring flows every other relationship we cultivate. The teaching beautifully unpacks how our relationships serve as living testimonies to our children, who are constantly watching how we navigate conflict, extend grace, and honor others. We're called to be like the friends who tore through a roof to bring their paralyzed companion to Jesus—that level of intentional, sacrificial friendship that seeks to bring others into Christ's presence. This session emphasizes that iron sharpens iron in both directions, challenging us to ask not just who is sharpening us, but which side of others are we sharpening—the godly or the worldly? As we model intentional relationships marked by humility, gentleness, and patience as described in Ephesians 4:1-2, we're preparing our children for a lifetime of meaningful connections rooted in Christ's love.
