Session 6: Joshua
Session 6: Joshua
What does it mean to live with courageous faith in a world that constantly pulls us away from God's truth? Through the life of Joshua, we discover a powerful portrait of what it looks like to position ourselves as close to God as possible. Before Joshua ever led Israel into the Promised Land, he was the young man who wouldn't leave the tent of meeting, who positioned himself in God's presence even when no one was watching. His story challenges us to examine our own proximity to God. Are we content with casual faith, or do we hunger and thirst for righteousness like Joshua did? The command given to Joshua echoes through Scripture to us today: be strong and courageous. This isn't a call to muster up human strength, but to lean into divine strength when we face obstacles that seem impossible. Joshua's heart broke over what broke God's heart because he spent time in God's presence. When we abide in Christ, His heart becomes our heart. The things that grieve God begin to grieve us. This isn't about religious performance but about intimate relationship. As we follow Christ, we become disciples who think like Him, care about what He cares about, and see the world through His eyes. Joshua's life reminds us that we can be as close to God as we want to be, and that proximity transforms everything.
