Session 11: Esther
Session 11: Esther
The story of Esther reveals a profound truth that often escapes our notice: God's hand is more evident in our stories than we might think. What makes this biblical account so remarkable is that God is never mentioned by name throughout the entire book, yet His presence saturates every page. This isn't evidence of His absence but rather an invitation to discover how He orchestrates circumstances for our good. As we examine the intricate ironies woven throughout Esther's narrative—from Haman being impaled on the very gallows he built for Mordecai, to a sleepless king randomly hearing about Mordecai's heroism—we're challenged to look back at our own lives with fresh eyes. Those moments we dismissed as coincidence, those doors that closed only for better ones to open, those seemingly random encounters that changed everything—these weren't accidents. They were divine appointments. The challenge before us is to recognize that we, like Esther, have been placed in our specific circumstances 'for such a time as this.' We're not passive observers in God's story but active participants called to courageous faith, even when the path forward seems uncertain or dangerous.
