DAY NINE
God’s Promise:
I will reward you.
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. - Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
There are several kinds of faith mentioned in the Bible. For the believer, we are all familiar with saving faith. Every true child of God was saved by grace through faith in Jesus.
There is also the daily sustaining faith believers walk in through the Holy Spirit. This sustaining faith, expressed through daily surrender, is pleasing to God. We can spend our lives seeking the rewards this world can give us. Or we can invest our lives in the rewards God promises to give. The world wants us to believe that better jobs, bigger paychecks, fancier houses, more power, etc. will somehow satisfy us. But these things are at best only temporary and will leave us feeling empty and always wanting more.
Sustaining faith seeks God daily and believes what He says. As a result, God will give rewards that money can’t buy, rust can’t destroy, and thieves can’t steal.
Action Step:
I will seek God today. I will read His Word and pray. I will live by faith and I will walk in faith, believing God will meet my needs.
