“Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:1-2
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Commitment is about 30-45 minutes weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights.
•Actively greet families with a smile, word of encouragement and assistance, knowing that you are our first chance at making an impression on families as they come in and helping them feel a part of our church family.
•Help new families complete a connect card, input their information into our check-in system, print their child(ren)’s labels, and walk them to their child’s room.
•Intentionally invest in each family on the way to and from the classroom, talking with parents about potential LifeGroups for them and other ways they could plug in.
•Manage check-in printers and replace sticker paper as it runs out.
•Write a postcard to each family you met and helped check in before you leave your post for the morning. Our staff will address it and mail it Monday morning.
•Handle distractions and disturbances by being alert to any unusual behavior or activity. If there is a medical emergency or something alarming, notify a security team member in the foyer.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
•Worship. Regularly attend and actively engage in our church-wide worship services, and commit to grow as a Christian in all facets of life.
•Prepare in prayer. Pray for God’s heart for people every time you serve. Ask God how you can put someone else at ease, for the Lord to use you today, and how you can most authentically demonstrate His love.
•Serve when scheduled. Let Kids Ministry staff know in advance if you are going to be out.
•Be on time. Consistently arrive at your station at least 20 minutes before the beginning of each service.
•Dress appropriately. Dress in a manner that would honor Christ and not distract others or cause them to stumble. Crossgates Kids shirts are available for purchase through the Kids Ministry staff.
•Serve with passion, commitment, and excellence. Remember that you represent Jesus Christ to our kids and families. Conduct yourself worthy of His calling on your life, leaning on His direction for all your ministry opportunities.
•Communicate. If you need a break, feel burnt out, or are just going through a busy season, let us know! We’d love to pray with you and for you in any way we can.
