Serve with Kids Ministry

“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf is welcoming Me.” Matthew 18:5

Kids LifeGroup Leader/Co-Leader

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Commit 1.5 hours on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, and this role can be weekly, every other Sunday, or once a month.

•Actively greet families with a smile and a word of encouragement as they drop their kid(s) off, knowing that you are a tangible representation of Jesus and you play a part in helping them feel a part of our church family.

•Carefully prepare a lesson using the provided curriculum that invites kids to understand God’s Word in an engaging way, and guide kids in age and stage appropriate activities, games, and crafts using the provided curriculum.

•Engage with the kids in your room and create an environment where they feel safe, heard, and included.

•Share positive experiences with parents when they pick their child up; if a behavior problem is consistently distracting others from learning or creating an unsafe environment, invite a coordinator or Kids Ministry staff into the situation to talk with the parents.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

•Worship. Regularly attend and actively engage in our church-wide worship services, and commit to grow as a Christian in all facets of life.

•Prepare in prayer.  Pray for God’s heart for people, and ask Him how you can put someone else at ease, for the Lord to use you today, and how you can most authentically demonstrate His love.

•Serve when scheduled and be on time. Let Kids Ministry staff know in advance if you are going to be out, and please arrive at least 15 minutes before each service.

•Dress appropriately. Dress in a manner that would honor Christ and not distract others or cause them to stumble. Crossgates Kids shirts are available for purchase through the Kids Ministry staff.

•Serve with passion, commitment, and excellence. Remember that you represent Jesus Christ to our kids and families. Conduct yourself worthy of His calling on your life.

•Communicate. If you need a break, feel burnt out, or are just going through a busy season, let us know! We’d love to pray with you and for you in any way we can.

•Handle distractions and disturbances by being alert to any unusual behavior or activity. If there is a medical emergency or something alarming, notify a coordinator in the hallway.
