Serve with Worship

“Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to Him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to Him.” Psalm 95:1-2

Worship Choir Team

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Leading our church in presence-driven worship with unified voices utilizing music and the creative arts.

•Represent Crossgates in outside ministry opportunities.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

•Worship. Attend at least one full service. It is vital that we engage with the people we will be leading, and also sit under the preaching and authority of the Pastor. We are not performers, but are a part of the many worshipers that make up the body of Christ.

•Come prepared. Arrive at each assigned rehearsal/service with hearts and voices prepared with excellence. Have your music learned in such a way that you can lead with freedom, engagement, and flexibility. Pursue God's presence during the week through prayer and the reading of His Word in order to minister from an overflow of time spent with Him.

•Prepare in prayer. Ask the Lord to use you to be a catalyst for worship and a conduit for His love. Let everything we do be saturated with prayer.

•Serve when scheduled and be on time. Arrive early enough to be ready to sing at scheduled rehearsal and service times. This communicates to our teammates that we value their time and promotes unity.

•Cultivate and steward a God-centered, distraction-free atmosphere for people to encounter the living Jesus and His life-changing presence through worship, music, and the creative arts.

•Communicate. Respond to any worship team scheduling and communication within a timely manner.

•Dress appropriately. Dress in such a way that honors Christ and does not distract in any way. See attire guidelines for more information.

•Live above reproach. As public leaders, it is essential that we model a healthy lifestyle (or live out what we profess), both on and off the platform. We represent Christ, our church family, and our fellow teammates in how we carry ourselves, in our community and on social media.

•Serve with passion, commitment, and excellence. Commit yourself wholeheartedly to each choir season and give your best for His glory. Worship like it is your last Sunday and lead like it is someone’s first. If you need to take a break for a season or this team is not a good fit, let your team leader know. We are here to walk this journey with you!
