Serve with Kids Ministry

“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf is welcoming Me.” Matthew 18:5

Kids Hallway Coordinator

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Commit 1.5 hours weekly on Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights.

•Actively greet families with a smile or word of encouragement, knowing that you are a big part of helping them feel a part of our church family.

•Prepare your 3 – 6 classrooms with manipulatives/toys from the resource room (as age appropriate) for kids to enjoy as them come in, and pull any additional supplies or materials that the teachers in those rooms still need or are missing. Help teachers return supplies to the proper places at the end of the service hour.

•Help the teachers in your classrooms with any “high need” time, such as bathroom breaks or snack time.

•Join the teachers in the room as needed when they are overwhelmed by the classroom size or behavior management becomes challenging.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

•Worship. Regularly attend and actively engage in our church-wide worship services, and commit to grow as a Christian in all facets of life.

•Prepare in prayer.  Pray for God’s heart for people every time you serve.  Ask God how you can put someone else at ease, for the Lord to use you today, and how you can most authentically demonstrate His love.

•Serve when scheduled. Let Kids Ministry staff know in advance if you are going to be out.

•Be on time. Consistently arrive at your station at least 20 minutes before the beginning of each service.

•Dress appropriately. Dress in a manner that would honor Christ and allow you to get in the floor with kids as needed. Crossgates Kids shirts are available for purchase through the Kids Ministry staff.

•Serve with passion, commitment, and excellence. Remember that you represent Jesus Christ to our kids and families. Conduct yourself worthy of His calling on your life, leaning on His direction for all your ministry opportunities.

•Handle distractions and disturbances by being alert to any unusual behavior or activity. If there is a medical emergency or something alarming, notify a security team member in the foyer.

•Communicate. If you need a break, feel burnt out, or are just going through a busy season, let us know! We’d love to pray with you and for you in any way we can.
