Serve with Kids Ministry

“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Mark 10:14-15

JAM Worship & Teaching Support

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Commit 1.5 hours on Sunday mornings.

•Prayerfully prepare to lead out in your assigned element of the service: study the passage of Scripture, pray, and review the curriculum throughout the week; plan to use creative ways to engage the kids on their age and stage appropriate level.

•Actively greet families with a smile and a word of encouragement as they drop their kid(s) off in JAM.

•Attentively engage during the entire service, being ready to make transitions smooth or jumping in as needed; be an encourager to the team of volunteers that you serve with.

•Regularly communicate with the Kids Ministry Director.

•Share positive experiences with parents when they pick their child up; and if a behavior problem is consistently distracting others from learning or creating an unsafe environment, invite a coordinator or Kids Ministry staff into the situation to talk with the parents.

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

•Worship. Regularly attend and actively engage in our church-wide worship services, and commit to grow as a Christian in all facets of life.

•Prepare in prayer.  Pray for God’s heart for people every time you serve.  Ask God how you can put someone else at ease, for the Lord to use you today, and how you can most authentically demonstrate His love.

•Serve when scheduled. Let Kids Ministry staff know in advance if you are going to be out.

•Be on time. Consistently arrive at your station at least 15 minutes before the beginning of each service.

•Dress appropriately. Dress in a manner that would honor Christ and not distract others or cause them to stumble. Crossgates Kids shirts are available for purchase through the Kids Ministry staff.

•Serve with passion, commitment, and excellence. Remember that you represent Jesus Christ to our kids and families. Conduct yourself worthy of His calling on your life, leaning on His direction for all your ministry opportunities.

•Handle distractions and disturbances by being alert to any unusual behavior or activity. If there is a medical emergency or something alarming, notify a security team member outside the Treehouse.

•Communicate. If you need a break, feel burnt out, or are just going through a busy season, let us know! We’d love to pray with you and for you in any way we can.
