COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Church Update

Updated: Monday, March 23

Dear Crossgates Family,

In light of the growing national concerns and precautions many organizations are taking as they pertain to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), as well the recommendation of the Mississippi Department of Health and the CDC to limit large gatherings and practice "social distancing", the leadership of Crossgates Church has decided not to hold public services until further notice. Instead, we will hold all services at our online campus only going forward. This is a great opportunity to gather in your home with your family and worship together as you watch online. Our Sunday Worship Encounter from Sunday, March 22, at 9 AM can be replayed anytime at crossgates.org/sermons. Also, a new addition this week is "After the Message with David Jett".  This airs live at 6 PM each week for us to dig deeper into the Latest Sunday Morning Message together in a discussion-based setting. You can also watch this On-Demand at crossgates.org/sermons. Many Bible studies for all ages will be continually posted on our main website crossgates.org.

Here are ways you can join us live and still worship as a church family:
Since health professionals are canceling all essential meetings and asking us to practice social distance, we are also canceling all other Crossgates activities, events, and services until further notice.

Our Weekday Preschool and MMO programs will also be closed through at least April 17. Both of these ministries are designed to follow the Rankin County School District policies regarding openings and closures. We will continue to monitor their decisions and adjust our plans accordingly if this needs to be extended further.

For many, the spread of this virus has caused fear and anxiety. Yet, we are grateful that the Bible tells us, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you will sense God’s peace in the midst of these difficult circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary, but rather walk in wisdom as we serve the Lord and our community in a way that demonstrates our trust in God and our love for people.

Crossgates Church loves you and we are praying for you and your families’ continued safety and well-being, as well as for those who have been affected by this virus. We’re also praying for a cure straight from heaven and for our medical community as they deal with the impact of this crisis.

Our focus is now becoming how we can be the church outside our walls by helping the elderly and others in our community with basic needs such as bringing them food, medicine, and personal items they require. We ask for your prayers and support during these times so we can continue to carry the transforming love of Jesus to every longing heart.

As we move forward, we will continue to update our schedule week to week. In order to receive these updates, join our text info system by texting CGINFO to 601-825-2562.
