Purpose
Our purpose at Crossgates Mother’s Morning Out program is to provide a warm, loving environment for young children, and to offer support and encouragement to their families.
Curriculum
Children are guided through learning activities using age-appropriate Christian curriculum. Typical activities include art, music, games, story-telling and role playing.
Snacks and Lunch
Children are served a morning snack as well as a snack during Play Day. We request that they have breakfast before coming to MMO. Children eat lunch at 11:10 AM. Parents may either bring the child’s lunch or purchase a lunch from MMO. A calendar is provided with the monthly menu.
Drop Off/Pick Up
We begin receiving children at 8:20 AM and ask that parents pick them up by 12 noon. Parents should go to the classroom to drop off and pick up their child in order to complete the Sign-in/Sign-out form. Children are released only to designated adults who may be asked to show a picture ID.
Health
In the interest of every child’s well-being, children must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to MMO. If a child has symptoms of illness, such as an elevated temperature, rash, vomiting or diarrhea, parents should keep him at home. If symptoms of illness are observed during MMO, parents will be notified and asked to pick up the child as soon as possible.
Play Day
Play Day is an optional extended day (12 noon until 2 PM) each Tuesday and Thursday. The cost is $7 per Play Day.
Calendar
The MMO school year begins in late August and ends in May. Except for beginning and ending dates, MMO follows the same holiday schedule as Rankin County Public Schools. In case of inclement weather, classes will be dismissed if Rankin County Public Schools are dismissed. Tuition is a monthly fee and is not adjusted for any holidays.
Absences/Withdrawals
If a child must be withdrawn, advance notice is requested. There is no refund of the month’s tuition for withdrawal. Monthly tuition is to be paid in full regardless of the child’s attendance. If there is a prolonged illness, parents have two options:
1) withdraw the child for a time then re-enter if space is available, or
2) continue to pay the monthly tuition to retain the child’s place.
Dress
Play clothes and tennis shoes are appropriate because activities include active and sometimes messy play. Please select the child’s clothing with safety, comfort and weather in mind. We ask that parents bring an extra set of clothing in the child’s bag each day. Please label all belongings with the child’s name.
Toys
Since toys and other learning materials are provided in each classroom, we request that children not bring any toys to MMO. Teachers cannot be responsible for toys brought from home.
Items to Bring
9-24 month olds – diapers, wipes, bottles or cups of juice, milk, or water, change of clothes, instruction sheet or schedule (keep in bag at all times)
